Every night before eating dinner, my Abu dad would make an elaborate dua which by the time he completed the food had gone cold or at least that’s how long it felt. He would tell me all the time, Son when you are my age you’ll understand. This was an example of that, at the time I would grow impatient because I was hungry… you know? I just wanted to eat. I would look around the table to see if anyone else felt the same way, they all had their heads down looking into their palms while my dad continued on with the dua.
